The Hertfordshire Football Final held in splendid conditions in Radlett Road resulted in a two in a row for the Oxford men. Two points down at half time Oxford blitzed the St. Albans men in the first ten minutes of the second half to win back to back titles for the first time.
St. Colmcilles started brightly with two points from Chris Griffin and Paul Dolan before the Oxford men scored their first in the 15th minute from Kealan Reid. Dolan restored the lead to two points on the 20th minute before Kevin Morrissey scored a great Oxford goal on the 25th minute to give Eire Og the lead for the first time. Morrissey extended the lead on the 27th before Chris Griffin scored an excellent solo goal to give the St. Albans a two point lead on half time.
Paul Dolan scored the first point of the second half to extend the lead to three points.
The game turned on the 32nd minute when Paul Dolan was sent off for a second yellow card. With more space the Oxford men went on the rampage and scored 2-03 without reply. (1-0 from K. Morrissey, 1-01 from Piers McGlynn and 0-2 from Sean Quinn). Nathan Hannon scored 2 late points from St. Albans frees before Kevin Morrissey capped a man of the match performance with a magnificent goal on the 60th minute. Joe Scullion scored the last point for Oxford to give them an 8 point win.
